We are always delighted to welcome visitors to our Romsey meeting, whatever your spiritual views: conventional Christian or questioning sceptic; agnostic or believer; just plain curious or needing a place of peace and tranquillity in a busy life.
What all Quakers have in common is reliance on our own spiritual experience. Our meetings are based in silence, a shared space of waiting and listening. As we settle together we create a gathered stillness where we can be in touch with the mystery at the heart of life which some call “god”.
We meet as equals so anyone may feel led to deepen the experience of the Meeting by speaking if they feel prompted to do so. There is no universal Quaker creed, but rather we uphold our testimonies of truth, simplicity, peace, sustainability and equality.
Romsey Quakers first began meeting in1668. These days you will find us at the premises of Carers Together in Love Lane. Meetings last for about an hour, with time for tea, coffee and conversation afterwards.
We enjoy sharing with other Quakers in our Area Meeting, and others in our local faith community as members of Churches Together in Romsey.
